“Mazzy” became a NAVHDA Versatile Champion and AKC Master Hunter by the age of 3 years and 1 month. As phenomenal as that is, she was also a great contributor to the breed through 3 litters, all recipients of NAVHDA breeders awards.
Her first litter produced 7 out of 8 Prize I NAVHDA Natural Ability dogs. 4 prized UT dogs (12/2006).
Her second litter (different sire) produced 8 of 8 NAVHDA NA PZ I dogs to date. The average score out of 112 for that litter was 111.3.
Her third, and final litter produced 3 NAVHDA Utility prized dogs, and 8 NAVHDA Natural Ability prizes.
She was owner trained, handled and loved by Cheryl Asmus (Aguiar). Mazzy was not your average GSP. She was a great hunter and a once in a lifetime dog. I owe EVERYTHING at Outlander to Mazzy.

Mazzy lived to just shy of 14 years and was present and beautiful until the day she passed. Mazzy was the start of Outlander German Shorthaired Pointers.Mazzy started me into NAVHDA and the world of the versatile hunting dog. From her, I became the breeder, trainer, and NAVHDA judge I am today. I quit my job and started a dog business as a result of her and am so happy to have done so. I would not be the person I am today…without her presence in my life for 14 years. I have met hundreds of wonderful people because of her. MANY people have the great joy of their dog…through offspring or descendents of her. I have the great joy of my dogs…because of her. This website would not even be…without sweet Mazzy.
We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan … —-“The Once Again Prince” from “Separate Life Times” Irving Townsend
